Why 1500×500 Pixels?
Twitter (X) uses a 3:1 aspect ratio for headers. 1500×500 pixels gives you the full canvas without compression or upscaling. Mobile users see a center-cropped portion, so keep logos and text away from the left and right edges. On desktop the full 1500×500 is visible; on mobile Twitter crops to roughly 600×200 from the center.

Step 1: Choose a wide, horizontal image
Twitter headers are 1500×500 pixels at a 3:1 ratio — very wide and short. A landscape photo, a branded graphic, or a professional background works well. Portrait photos will be heavily cropped.

Upload your image and the tool resizes it to exactly 1500×500 pixels. Position the most important content in the center 40% of the canvas — roughly 450 to 1050 px horizontally — as mobile crops the far left and right edges.
