Quality and File Size
JPG and the selected WebP output are both lossy. Re-encoding can soften fine detail or add artifacts, and a WebP file can be larger than the JPG at some quality settings.
Transparency and Metadata
A JPG source has no transparent pixels, so converting it does not create transparency. Camera and editing metadata may not be carried into the browser-generated WebP.
