Quality and File Size
Rasterizing fixes the vector at one pixel size, and JPG compression can soften text, logos, and hard edges. Enlarging the JPG later will not restore vector sharpness.
Transparency and Metadata
JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent SVG areas are flattened onto white. External SVG resources can also prevent browser rasterization; use embedded assets when possible.
