How to resize an image for a Keynote widescreen background?

Step 1: Upload the source image
Choose a clear JPG, PNG, WebP, or HEIC image. Start with a source at least as large as the target canvas when possible.

Step 2: Apply the 16:9 preset
Select 1920×1080, then use the crop preview to keep text, faces, and logos away from the edges.

Step 3: Add it to Keynote
Open the Document sidebar and choose a 16:9 or custom 1920×1080 slide size. Use Image Fill, then choose Scale to Fill or Scale to Fit and inspect the resulting crop.
