How to pixelate an image online?

How does image pixelation work?
The editor first reduces the image to a smaller grid, then scales that grid back up without smoothing. Each grid cell becomes a visible block of color.
Can I use pixelation to redact private information?
Pixelation is not a guaranteed secure redaction method, especially when the original text or pattern is predictable. Remove sensitive content completely for high-risk documents.
Can I pixelate only one region?
The current tool applies one block size to the complete image. It does not provide a region-selection brush.
Does Instasize upload my image to process this effect?
No. This editor decodes, renders, and encodes the image in your current browser tab. The file only leaves your device if you choose a separate upload or sharing action afterward.
What file will I download?
The current browser editor exports a PNG. PNG keeps the result predictable across supported browsers and preserves transparent corners when the effect creates them.
