PNG supports an alpha channel, which is why logos, icons, and cutouts use it. This PNG resizer preserves that alpha channel: transparent and semi-transparent areas survive the resize, and the download is still a PNG. In Fit mode, any padding added around the image is transparent rather than white, so a resized logo still drops cleanly onto any background.

PNG Is Lossless — and Often Large
No Compression Artifacts
PNG stores pixels losslessly, so resizing here never introduces the blocky artifacts JPG compression can create around text and sharp edges. Resampling to new dimensions does recalculate pixels — an enlarged PNG will look softer because upscaling cannot add detail — but the resized result is encoded without any lossy compression pass.
Why PNG Files Are Bigger
Lossless storage has a cost: a photographic PNG is usually several times larger than the same photo as a JPG. Reducing the pixel dimensions with this tool is the safest way to shrink a PNG without giving up transparency or lossless quality. If the image is an opaque photo, converting it to JPG or WebP will reduce the file much further.
