The pixels stay exactly where they are
This converter updates the physical-resolution field stored in a JPG or PNG. It does not decode, resample, or recompress the image, so the pixel dimensions and compressed image data remain unchanged.
DPI controls calculated print size
Print and layout software can use the stored density to calculate a physical size. The same 3000×2400 image calculates to 10×8 inches at 300 DPI or 20×16 inches at 150 DPI; the underlying pixels are identical.

Common presets and custom DPI
Choose 72, 96, 150, 300, or 600 DPI, or enter a whole-number value from 36 to 2400. Follow the requirement from the printer, publisher, marketplace, or application receiving the file.
Private browser processing
The file is read and updated locally in your browser. JPG and PNG files up to 25 MB are supported, and the image is not sent to an Instasize server.
How do I change the DPI of an image?
