A direct 300 DPI workflow
Upload a JPG or PNG and the tool starts with 300 DPI selected. It shows the existing density, pixel dimensions, and calculated physical size before writing the new metadata.
No unnecessary re-encoding
The operation patches physical-resolution metadata in the existing file. It does not run a canvas export, so JPG compression is not applied again and PNG pixels are not rebuilt.
Check whether the file has enough pixels
300 DPI is not a quality upgrade
A 600×600 image set to 300 DPI calculates to a 2×2-inch print. Changing the tag cannot make it a sharp 10×10-inch print; that larger output would require roughly 3000×3000 source pixels.
Confirm the actual specification
Many print workflows use 300 DPI, but it is not universal. Ask the printer for pixel dimensions, color profile, file format, bleed, and density requirements before final delivery.
