The tool re-encodes each image with the selected format, quality, and maximum long edge directly in your browser.
Will every compressed image be smaller?
If a new file would be the same size or larger, the tool keeps the original bytes instead and labels that result. This avoids increasing an already-efficient file.
Can I compress to an exact file size?
No. The quality control affects file size, but image detail and format determine the final bytes. This page does not promise an exact KB or MB target.
Do I need to upload the files?
No. The images are decoded and compressed on your device, and the ZIP is also assembled in the browser.
