What is a PDP?
Definition
PDP stands for product detail page. It is the page for a single product, showing photos, title, price, description and a buy button. It is where a shopper decides whether to buy, so its images carry much of the work.
Why it matters for sellers
On a PDP the shopper cannot touch the product, so the photos stand in for it. A clear main image, a few angles and a close-up of material or details answer questions that would otherwise become messages or returns.
PDP images also need to look like one set. When the main image, angles and lifestyle shots share the same lighting, size and background style, the page feels trustworthy. Mismatched crops and colors make a listing look careless, even when the product is good.
How to do it with Instasize
Use Instasize to prepare each PDP image: a clean main image on white, then matching secondary images at the right size for the platform.
- Upload the main product photo to the white background tool and download the cutout on pure white.
- Resize it to the platform's image size using the marketplace size page.
- Add secondary images, such as a staged scene, with Product Staging.
- Export every image at the same dimensions so the gallery lines up.

Examples
A ceramic mug
The PDP uses a white main image, a side view, a close-up of the glaze and one staged shot on a kitchen counter. All four share the same square size.
A pair of sneakers
The gallery shows the shoe from the side, front and sole, all cut out on the same white background so the buyer can compare angles without distraction.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a PDP and a PLP?
A PDP shows one product in detail. A PLP, or product listing page, shows many products as small cards that link to their PDPs.
How many images should a PDP have?
There is no fixed number. Check the marketplace's current image policy for its limit, and aim to cover the main view, key angles and details.
Which image matters most on a PDP?
The first image, because it is usually the one shown in search and category pages as well. It should show the whole product clearly.
Does a PDP need lifestyle photos?
They help buyers picture the product in use, but they are usually secondary images. Keep the main image clean and plain.
