The editing trends on social media are constantly changing, and one of our jobs here at Instasize is to monitor and report on these changes. A couple weeks ago we began noticing big name brands incorporating the use of borders into their branded uploaded content. Adidas, Steve Madden, Zara, they are all hopping on board the Border Train.
It wasn’t until this past week when the Queen B herself, Beyonce, (@beyonce, as if we needed to include her IG handle) posted the below image, that we decided a Border Breakdown was essential to cover on our blog. You can EASILY recreate this look using Instasize and we’re here to show you how.
Looking for professional stock photos to add to the overall cohesiveness of your feed and/or blog? Utilize free photo sites that work directly with photographers and content creators alike to generate amazing content for anyone to use. A great example of this is Unsplash. Search through thousands of photos that you can easily download and implement into your posting schedule.
Recreate The Look
Adding a full border around any photo is made simple using Instasize. All the features we are about to discuss are available to you for free, no premium subscription needed (although a premium subscription will grant you access to MANY more amazing features).
1. What you need to do first, is search an image you’d wish to use as your background. In the case of Beyonce up above, she went with streamers and it appears it was a photo taken with her personal device. You can either search the Internet for a photo you’d wish to use as your background, use your own personal photo, or use the pre-generate backgrounds InstaSize provides within the app. For the sake of this tutorial, we’ll be using a background pulled from our “Glitter” Border Pack on the app.
1.5. This is where the actual tutorial begins! Open the app and choose a photo from your camera roll you wish to add a border too. Then proceed with adding a filter + editing, and then scrolling all the way to the right of the tool bar to find our border icon. This process is detailed in the video below.
2. You can use the adjustment bar to either increase or decrease the photo in the center of your border. From here you can choose from a plethora of free border/background options. Become a premium member on InstaSize and have unlimited access to new premium borders MONTHLY.
Be Bold With Borders
As we mentioned above, Beyonce isn’t the only one upping her IG game with the use of borders. Name brands and influencers alike have both been utilizing borders to give their content a more creative + personal touch. Check out some of our favorites below:
